The annual conference of the BU Admixture Systems Asia Pacific was held on 25 and 26 May in Singapore this year. Eighty participants, among them the heads of the Business Lines as well as managers from thirteen countries, were looking ahead to an extensive one and a half day program.
Dr. Boris Gorella, Head of the Business Unit Admixture Systems Asia Pacific, opened the conference and introduced twelve new colleagues from the management team for the Asia Pacific region who had joined the company since the last annual conference. He proceeded with a brief update on the integration process with BASF – brief, because only a limited amount of information was available due to compliance reasons. "There is no doubt that we are soon to enter an exciting new chapter in the history of our company. With BASF's strong focus in this region and its particular emphasis on China,the new ownership will enable us to fully capitalize on its technology resources to successfully continue our business growth in the emerging regions while expanding our innovative product portfolio in the more mature countries", Dr. Gorella said and he continued: "BASF is indeed the ideal partner!"
The first day of the conference comprised presentations from eleven countries as well as Q&A sessions. A voting for the best three presenters was held, to intersperse densely packed information with some interactivity and fun.
The second (half) day centered around current issues in Marketing, Research and Development, and ESHQ. In addition to that, Sun Xiru, Head of the Business Line Construction Systems Japan/North Asia, was invited to give a presentation on strategy in his regions. Dr. Gorella concluded the event by awarding the best three presentersbthat had been voted for the day before, and by expressing his appreciation for the excellent organization of the event by Dr. Bruce Christensen and his supporting team.
