Enormous sum of money is being invested to expand the city into a modern and attractive city like Java Island. Sepinggan Airport is the international airport, also as the East Kalimantan gate way to support facility to boost the economic in Kalimantan. Sepinggan Airport had officially opened on September 6, 1993 and growing with more than 10 commercials airline landed with schedule arrival & departure average 136 flights for domestic & 4 schedule flights for international every day. PROJECT CHALLENGES AND CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT Sepinggan is upgrading the main facility for aircraft handling, especially for taxi way and apron. Old design which uses flexible asphalt has been replaced with rigid concrete pavement for all taxi way and apron. To fulfill joint movement and the extreme environment, Sepinggan Airport requires good sealant.
