BASF TBM Conference 2009
The 3rd BASF TBM Conference arrives in Singapore, after Europe 2007 and North America 2008, and will be held from 4th to 6th November 2009.
The main topic for this year's TBM Conference is:
"Safe TBM tunneling under urban areas"
The Conference will focus on how best to use soil conditioning and ground improvement materials and techniques allowing the TBM to economically mine through difficult ground conditions.
Currently, there are three main lines in Singapore, the North-South line, the East-West line and the North-East line, with total length of 138 km.
Two lines, Circle Line and Downtown Line 1, are under construction. Four new MRT lines will be built, Downtown Line 2 (starting 2009), Downtown Line 3 ('10), Thomson Line ('11) and Eastern Region Line ('13). By year of 2020, the total length of MRT network of Singapore shall be 278 km.
